Vision

“What’s wrong with the world?” and “How can we fix it?” are two universal questions that seem almost imprinted on the minds and hearts of every person. Man has tried to find the answer in any number of ways, whether science, philosophies, self-gratifcation or even religion. Knowing that these efforts have clearly not produced the world people long for, the gospel of Jesus presents a different way to live and reveals the kingdom of heaven, opening up a whole new world.

But the story of God doesn’t start off with a broken world, but one that God looked upon and said it was ‘very good.’ Our vision is nothing short of seeing this world put back together the way God intends and the way he provides through the work of his Son Jesus Christ. We embrace a vision where the end of the story is really a new beginning for a world we all deeply desire. A world where things like lying, stealing, poverty, violence and injustice give way to truth, charity, provision, peace and equality. By faith, we envision and boldly hope for a world that is fully redeemed and restored because our faith is in Jesus who says, “Behold, I am making all things new.”

This global image needs to be practiced locally through our missional communities and all those we partner with as we train new disciples, love God, love one another and serve our neighbors. We are here today because Jesus and the Apostles began a movement that far outlived themselves and we too picture a disciple making movement that begins right here in Metro Detroit and is both expanded and sustained far beyond ourselves.
